In WIN 7to get to the AppData folder - while your folders are visible, click on the Organize option at the top of the window, then the View tab, at Hidden Files and Folders - click on the radio button for Show Hidden Files, Folders, Drive and these folders will display - even tho they are lighter than the rest - they are accessible. Click here for tutorials on how to use ICC printer color profiles. Manual Installation for Windows. If you do not see the Install Profile selection, you either do not have the file unzipped properly, or there is a glitch in your Windows installation. In this case, just copy and paste the profile to the proper folder below. ICC profiles Published on April 15, 2015 / Updated on May 21, 2019. It is essential in color management to understand what an ICC profile is: it is the color ID card of a device.
You have no idea how it doesn't... Sorry, but this is a WINDOWS problem, not a problem with a particular game (because it's caused by a truckload of them) that can be resolved with a patch.
I'll explain it again. Some games force windows to use the base monitor profile, then apply their own color correction. When the game is closed windows is supposed to return to the icc profile which was set to be the default one, except windows 10 doesn't do that, it remains stuck in the base profile.
You can see the two profiles on the screenshot above, you might notice (sorry it's in french) that the custom icc profile is set to be the default profile (and before you start, yes it's activated properly). Now, when the bug happens my custom profile is still marked as default, but the colors the monitor is using are from the base profile (the xl2411t). What i have to do every damn time is to select the xl211t profile, click the 'set as default' button (no color changes at this point) THEN set my custom profile as default again, which is starting to bother me immensely.

This bug is very easy to reproduce.

When color management is enabled, GDI searches for an appropriate ICC profile, using the following steps:

- If the driver's printer interface DLL provides a DrvQueryColorProfile function, the GDI client calls the function to give the driver an opportunity to specify a profile. If the function returns a profile, it is used.
- If DrvQueryColorProfile does not exist or does not return a profile, GDI searches the color directory for profiles that have been installed for the specified printer type. GDI uses the first profile it finds that matches resolution, media type, and dithering settings in the DEVMODE structure.
- If the color directory does not contain any profiles for the specified printer type that match the specified DEVMODE contents, GDI uses the system's default sRGB profile.
